why must i make myself read philosophy?
Papers with authors in philosophy departments require a great deal of mental overhead and are a leading cause of my reading fatigue. It’s not that the ideas are intellectually challenging; I just wish they’d get to the point and pick up the pieces later. Maybe it’s just the dynamic duo of psych+philosophy that’s really to be avoided.

I’m working on software for fast firing biologically reasonable neural networks. When I’m done I’ll have a good grasp of the current literature regarding all that stuff. And maybe, if I do it right, I’ll have a good tool at the end.
